Preschool Butterflies

Over the last six weeks we have been watching our butterflies grow. They started as tiny caterpillars in a little pot and after about four weeks of growing bigger and bigger they made their cocoons. We then moved them into the butterfly net and after about 11 days, one by one they crept out of their cocoons as beautiful butterflies.

The children named them Olivia, Boris, Cleo, Flower and Spider-Man. Then on the 24th may they were released so they could go enjoy nature. The preschoolers have found it fascinating observing the process and doing different butterfly themed activities.
