Babies will be doing a physical development week where babies will be encouraged to take their first steps, build towers and move to musical CDs. Babies will be also playing with dollies, giving them a bath (different take on water play and role play) and many other activities…
After Christmas and all those lovely festive goodies we all eat, we thought it would be a good idea if toddlers also concentrated on their physical development this week. Not just gross mastles will be put to movement but also fine mastles of their little hands too. We will be looking closely on pencil control and grip of pens and brushes. We hope that our toddlers also use this time to chat with us about what they like doing and therefore develop their speech and language a bit more. We also have many new children starting this week so we will make sure all children settle into our toddler room as fast as possible, we will help them to become a bit more independent and encourage them to use toilets and potties rather then nappies.
Pre-school children will be busy this week as well. We will be working on our social skills and help children to form friendship and be able to play alongside their friends. We will be using shapes and create pictures of cars. Lets see if we have a new Ferrari designer among our children! Those children that prefer animals can create their own using paper and glue. We will use these pictures to create some new exciting displays!
Our shape of the week is “circle” and our colour is “blue” the letter of the week is “l” and our number is “13”.
